Pico Island Rhythm Retreat 2016!

De 19 a 26 de Março de 2016, a ilha do Pico vai receber um retiro/festival de frame drums, um evento inédito em Portugal.

Os frame drums são instrumentos de percussão com raízes ancestrais e que existem por todo o mundo assumindo diversas formas (redondos, quadrados, com soalhas, sem soalhas...) e funções (de tambores mágicos e ritualísticos a tambores de festa).

Hoje em dia, curiosamente, são veículo de um movimento global de inter-culturalidade, paz e religação às Tradições Orais à Natureza que tem vindo a crescer nos últimos 40 anos,  após o impulso dado por Glen Velez.

Este evento é organizado pela Frame Drums Atlantic: www.framedrumsatlantic.com e tem como directores artísticos: Dave Boyd (Irlanda) e Rui Silva (Portugal).

Pico Island Rhythm Retreat 2016!

From March 19-26, Pico island will receive a frame drums retreat/festival, an unprecedented event in Portugal.

The frame drums are percussion instruments with ancestral roots, that exist throughout the world assuming various shapes (round, square, with jingles without jingles ...) and functions (magical,  ritualistic, party drums...).

Today, curiously, are vehicle of a global movement of cultural exchange, peace and reconnection to the Oral Traditions and Nature, that has been growing for the last 40 years, after the impetus given by Glen Velez.
