IV Fórum Açoriano Franklin D. Roosevelt na ilha do Pico - parte 1

Nos dias 9 e 10 de Abril, decorreu no Auditório do Museu dos Baleeiros, na Lajes do Pico, o Fórum Açoriano Franklin D. Roosevelt com o tema "Açores e EUA: Estratégias de Desenvolvimento Sustentável", organizado pela Fundação Luso-Americana. Discutiu-se multi-disciplinar e transversalmente a agenda transatlântica actual e os principais desafios para o desenvolvimento sustentado nas áreas do mar e seus recursos, agricultura e turismo no âmbito da TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership).

IV Franklin D. Roosevelt Azorean Forum at Pico Island - I

On the 9th and 10th April the Auditorium of the Whaling Museum in Lajes do Pico, welcomed the  IV Franklin D. Roosevelt Azorean Forum. The theme of this event was "Azores and USA: Sustainable Development Strategies", organized by the Luso-American Foundation. 

During two days, was discussed in a multi-disciplinary and transversal way the current transatlantic agenda and the main challenges for sustainable development in the areas of the sea and its resources, agriculture and tourism within the TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership).

Açores: + 60% !!!

Nos primeiros 10 dias de operação das companhias low cost em São Miguel, o número de passageiros    no aeroporto de Ponta Delgada aumentou 60% (26479 passageiros) em relação ao mesmo período do ano passado (16498 passageiros).

In the first 10 days of operation of the low cost companies in São Miguel, the number of passengers at the airport of Ponta Delgada increased 60% (26 479 passengers) compared to the last year same period (16 498 passengers).

Dormidas nos Açores sobem em Janeiro!

Segundo notícia publicada no Jornal Incentivo, o arquipélago dos Açores regista, em Janeiro de 2015, um aumento de 34,1 % nas dormidas em comparação com Janeiro de 2014. Ou seja, registaram-se 34 758 dormidas, mais 8837 que no ano anterior.

A ilha de São Miguel com um aumento de 54,4% continua a ser o maior pólo de atracção do turismo açoreano.

O Triângulo aparece em segundo plano nesta estatística com o Pico (subiu 37,3 %), contrabalança as perdas em São Jorge (menos 20,5%) e no Fayal (menos 2,1%). 

The Azores: overnight stays statistics rise in January

According to news published in Jornal Incentivo, the Azores register on January 2015, an increase of 34.1% in overnight stays compared to January 2014. There were 34,758 overnight stays, 8837 more than the previous year .

The island of São Miguel with an increase of 54.4% continues to be the most important attraction pole of the Azorean tourism.

The Triangle appears on second place in this statistic with Pico (up 37.3%), compensates the losses in São Jorge (minus 20.5%) and in Fayal (minus 2.1%).
